Canon T2i Camera Body
The time has come for me to part with my Canon T2i (review). I’ve been shooting with it for about four years now, and you can browse just about every gallery I’ve posted on this site since spring of 2012 for sample images. It is an older camera body, but I have gotten some great pictures out of it. It was a good starter camera for me, and it will continue to be a solid choice for anyone switching from a point and shoot, for teens who want a real camera, or for taking a photography class at your local adult education center.
There are only two flaws I’m aware of: the rubber coating is peeling slightly on one corner, and the pop-up flash occasionally sticks.

Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens
I bought this lens in mid-2014 to replace the kit lens that came with the camera. It’s a solid “walk-around” lens for day-to-day use (info). Includes front and rear caps, lens hood, and a UV filter.
Price: $150
Camera + Lens: $300
Canon 50mm f/1.8
They call this lens the “nifty fifty,” and it has to be one of the best values in photography. It’s an incredibly sharp portrait lens in a light, affordable package. I’ve used it to take pictures of people and pets, as well as to capture street scenes at night without a flash. Includes front and rear caps and a UV filter.
